After her mother's sudden death, Ryo returns to her mother's home island, convinced that the key to understanding her mother's strange behavior lies in her origins. Despite her mother's explicit warnings to never set foot on the island again and to steer clear of Hotaruko, Ryo feels compelled to uncover the truth behind her mother's bizarre sexual conduct and what drove her to act so erratically.
